Former actress and politician Tonto Dikeh has announced that she has reconciled with her former husband, businessman Olakunle Churchill, after more than a decade of public separation and conflict.
Tonto shared the development on Saturday on her Instagram page, saying the long period of bitterness between them had come to an end.
In her statement, she wrote, “We are living proof that the Word of God is eternal and unfailing. God is not a God who abandons what He has started. When He begins a work, He stays with it until it is completed. After ten long years of public battles, deep wounds, broken communication, bitterness, and pain, God stepped in. What looked ugly, impossible, and beyond repair has been touched by mercy. Peace has replaced chaos. Respect has returned where anger once lived. What human effort could not fix, God healed by salvation, humility, and the sincere prayers of a child.”
She added, “I am deeply grateful to the father of my child Dr kunle for yielding to God’s word and choosing peace. Obedience to God always births restoration, even when the road has been long and painful.”
The mother of one also encouraged others facing similar challenges to remain hopeful, noting that the reconciliation was rooted in faith, humility and patience.
Tonto Dikeh and Olakunle Churchill met in 2014 and married in 2015. They welcomed a son, King Andre, before their marriage collapsed in 2017 following public disputes and legal disagreements, including issues relating to child custody.
Over the years, their separation played out publicly, with both parties making allegations and counter allegations across social media and in court. Despite the tension, they have had moments of cooperation as co parents, including jointly marking their son’s birthday in recent years.
Churchill later remarried actress Rosy Meurer, with whom he has another child.
