Tobi Makinde dismisses rumoured rift with Funke Akindele

Actor Tobi Makinde has addressed rumours of a fallout between him and filmmaker Funke Akindele, saying there is no issue between them.

He spoke during a BBC interview where he responded to speculation that their relationship had broken down. He dismissed the claims and said social media often creates stories that are not based on facts.

“Nothing really happened between me and Madam Funke, and I’m not aware of any fallout,” he said. “Social media likes to construct stories. They write their own script and then start looking for people to fit into the roles.”

Tobi said his relationship with Funke is not defined by online discussions and should not be judged by social media narratives.

“Our relationship no start from social media and no be for social media e go end,” he added. “Sometimes, as you grow and move from one level to another, some relationships may look like they’re lost in transit, but that’s not really the case.”

The rumours had circulated online following claims linking the speculation to Fuke’s absence at Tobi’s wedding. Neither Tobi nor Funke has confirmed any disagreement over the matter.

Tobi has featured in several productions by Funke, including the TV series Jenifa’s Diary, Everybody Loves Jenifa and the film A Tribe Called Judah.
