Controversial pastor and founder of the Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church (SPAC Nation), now rebranded as The Nxtion Family, Tobi Adegboyega, has revealed that he is recovering after undergoing cancer surgery and chemotherapy.

In a video shared on his Instagram story on Sunday, the 44-year-old said, “Good morning. I just wanted to share this as proof of life. By God’s grace, I’m alive, I’m recovering, and I’ve come through surgery. Now, I’m preparing for the next stage, chemotherapy.”

He explained that he had faced the illness as a responsibility, adding, “Sometimes when you tell people here in Nigeria, they say, ‘It’s not your portion.’ But I say, Jesus Himself carried His portion, and I’ve faced mine like a man should.”

Pastor Adegboyega expressed gratitude to those who sent him prayers and gifts.

He noted that his family and church community were continuing their activities, with plans to expand into new businesses without external investors.

Earlier in June, the UK-based preacher disclosed in a recorded sermon that he had been diagnosed with cancer and had undergone major surgery.

“I’ve been dealing with cancer for the past few months or even more. I just had a major surgery, that’s why I am not there today,” he said.

Adegboyega described his survival as an opportunity to continue his work.

“I have just fought the battle and I feel the verdict to continue to live was given to me by God for a new level, for a new stage,” he added.

Tobi Adegboyega founded SPAC Nation to reach troubled youths but came under scrutiny in the UK.

In 2022, the church was shut down by authorities after a court ruled that it failed to account for £1.87 million in expenses.
