Singer Tiwa Savage has shared how her son, Jamil Balogun, managed to meet US YouTube and Twitch star IShowSpeed during his visit to Nigeria as part of the Speed Does Africa tour.
She revealed that although she was away, Jamil reached out to her to make the meeting happen.
Sharing a photo of Jamil with IShowSpeed, Tiwa wrote:
“Please mommy, I know you can make me meet @IShowSpeed and I’m all the way in Darvos…”
She added with a laugh, “Omo see stress o,” and thanked those who helped set up the meeting, including @shankcomics, @manlikescoop, @olakunbi.o, @bizzleosikoya, and @boldandbigevent.
The 45-year-old also shared a screenshot of her chat with her son.
IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., has been touring Africa, visiting multiple countries and sharing his experiences live on YouTube and Twitch. His stop in Nigeria drew large crowds, with fans enjoying his visits to local markets, cultural sites, and Nigerian cuisine.
During his Lagos visit, IShowSpeed celebrated 50 million YouTube subscribers on his 21st birthday, marking a milestone in his growing international influence.
The Nigeria stop of the Speed Does Africa tour has been one of the most talked-about moments of his journey, with fans engaging with him both in-person and online.
