Nigeria’s music stars have earned nominations at the 2026 Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards, organisers have announced.
The awards are scheduled to hold on March 26, 2026, at Co op Live in Manchester, England, marking the 30th anniversary of the ceremony that celebrates Black music and culture.
Among the Nigerian artistes nominated are Wizkid, Davido, Ayra Starr, Rema, Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold and Shallipopi. They are listed in the Best African Music Act category alongside other African performers.
Ayra Starr secured a nomination in the Best International Act category, where she will compete with global artistes including Cardi B, Gunna, Kehlani, Tyla and Vybz Kartel.
The 2026 nominations span 20 categories, covering areas such as Best Male Act, Best Female Act, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Newcomer. Several UK based artistes also received multiple nominations across different categories.
The MOBO Awards, founded in 1996 in the United Kingdom, recognise achievements in music of Black origin, including hip hop, R and B, soul, reggae, jazz and African music.
