President Bola Tinubu has rejoiced with Christians in Nigeria and around the world, saying Easter reflects the country’s current realities as it faces economic and security challenges.
President Tinubu stated this in a message issued on Friday and signed by him through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga.
He said Easter marks the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ and represents sacrifice, resilience and renewal, noting that the message aligns with Nigeria’s present situation.
According to him, the country continues to manage economic strain and security concerns while government efforts remain ongoing to address them.
The president said his administration has continued to provide resources and engage international partners in efforts to tackle terrorism and banditry.
He also referenced his recent visit to Jos, where he met with victims of recent attacks and assured them of continued government attention.
Tinubu said security agencies have reported progress in ongoing operations, while additional support is being received from outside Nigeria.
He urged Nigerians to support lawful efforts, promote unity and act in ways that strengthen peace across the country.
Tinubu also said the Electoral Act should guide political conduct as Nigeria approaches another election cycle, calling on political actors to adhere to established rules.
He added that ongoing reforms are aimed at long-term stability and growth, noting that the current period requires adjustments as part of broader national progress.
Tinubu wished Christians a happy Easter.
