President Bola Tinubu and billionaire businessman Femi Otedola have celebrated industrialist Aliko Dangote on his 69th birthday.
In a statement issued on Friday through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu said Mr Dangote has played a major role in the development of key sectors of the economy through investments in manufacturing, petrochemicals and infrastructure.
He said the projects delivered by Dangote have helped position Nigeria as a centre for large-scale industrial production.
Tinubu listed the Dangote Refinery and cement production operations across Africa as part of the investments that have supported economic activity and job creation.
He said these investments have also strengthened infrastructure development and improved confidence in the Nigerian economy.
The president said Dangote’s approach to business has continued to serve as a reference point for entrepreneurs in Africa.
He also referenced the activities of the Dangote Foundation, saying it has supported interventions in health, education, and poverty reduction.
Tinubu said, “Aliko’s entrepreneurial vision, resilience, innovation, and commitment to excellence have transformed industries and positioned Nigeria as a hub for large-scale petrochemical and cement production.”
He added, “I salute Aliko for his conglomerate’s role in job creation, infrastructure development, and unwavering belief in the Nigerian economy and its potential.”
On his humanitarian work, Tinubu said, “I also applaud Aliko’s philanthropic efforts through the Dangote Foundation, which have significantly impacted lives in health, education, and poverty alleviation.”
He concluded with prayers for the businessman’s continued well-being.
“As Aliko marks another year, I pray for his continued good health, wisdom, and greater accomplishments in service to Nigeria, Africa, and humanity,” Tinubu said.
Mr Otedola also celebrated Dangote with a social media post featuring both of them.
He wrote, “Happy Birthday to my BESTIE Aliko Dangote, hands down the greatest entrepreneur to have come out of Africa. Wishing you many more years of good health, good market conditions, and continued success 😃…”
