President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to apprehend those responsible for the killing of Arise News anchor Somtochukwu Maduagwu.
The directive was contained in a statement released by the State House on Tuesday.
The statement read, “President Tinubu condemns the killing of Arise News anchor Somtochukwu Maduagwu, orders security agencies to apprehend culprits.”
Maduagwu, a lawyer and broadcast journalist, was killed during a robbery attack at her residence in Katampe, Abuja, in the early hours of Monday.
She died at the age of 29.
Arise News, in its own statement on Monday, confirmed her death and called for a thorough investigation into the incident.
The Nigeria Police have since commenced investigation into the matter.
