Tinubu condemns Jos, Kaduna attacks, orders security action

Bola Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has condemned attacks by gunmen in Angwan Rukuba area of Jos and Kahir village in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his special adviser on information and strategy Bayo Onanuga, the president said the incidents involved killings and abduction of people, including wedding guests.

He said those responsible would be brought to justice.

“Anyone who will sneak under the cover of the night and kill citizens as done in Jos and Kahir village is a coward,” he said.

President Tinubu said the attacks were carried out to cause harm and trigger further violence.

He directed security agencies to intensify efforts to arrest those responsible and address the spread of false information that could increase tension.

The president cautioned against reports suggesting the attacks were based on religion.

He said security agencies are working to address the situation and called on the public to cooperate with authorities and follow safety instructions.

“I urge our security agencies to be more proactive in preventing these attacks by acting on early warning intelligence. All the remaining abductees from Kahir village must be rescued,” he said.

Tinubu also commended Caleb Mutfwang and Uba Sani for their response to the incidents.

He said the federal government will support efforts in the affected states.

The president expressed sympathy to families of those who died and wished those injured recovery.

He added that the government is working to equip security agencies to respond to threats.
