Singer Timi Dakolo has called out Moroccan airline Royal Air Maroc for allegedly misplacing his luggage for over three weeks.
In a video shared on Instagram on Thursday, the 44-year-old said his bag went missing on June 26 during a trip from Lagos to Freetown, Sierra Leone, with a stopover in Morocco.
“I flew from Lagos to Morocco and was headed to Freetown. I saw my bag at the foot of the plane in Morocco. I had priority on my luggage, but it never made it onto the plane,” he narrated.
“I got to Freetown and the bag didn’t show up. It’s almost a month now. I filled the forms, made calls, sent emails, complained to NAHCO, even drove to the airport myself. Still, nothing.”
Timi, who appeared frustrated in the video, added: “It’s beginning to look like they stole my stuff. Please return my full luggage.”
In his caption, he directly appealed to the airline.
“Dear @royalairmaroc, please return my luggage. It’s been almost a month since the 26th of June. I last saw my luggage in Morocco. My whole bag can’t just vanish into thin air. I have valuables in there. My people, help me call them out.”
Supporting him, media personality Daddy Freeze also shared a video urging the airline to act.
“Air Maroc, please what is going on with Timi Dakolo’s bag? I need you to look into this. Can the authority please look into this?” he said.
Timi Dakolo, known for hits like ‘Iyawo Mi’ and ‘Wish Me Well,’ is one of Nigeria’s top vocalists. He often travels for shows and speaking engagements across Africa.
As of the time of filing this report, Royal Air Maroc had not responded publicly to Timi’s complaint.
