Musician Peter Okoye has expressed grief over a road accident that killed two members of British boxer Anthony Joshua’s team in Ogun State, Nigeria.

In a statement on Instagram, Peter said, “This accident has shattered me completely. Latz & Sina, I can’t believe you’re gone. Why? To my brother @Anthonyjoshua, my heart breaks for you. Latz & Sina will forever live in our memories and in the love they left behind. Even in the middle of this storm, we are grateful to God for sparing your life. May He comfort you, guide you, and help you carry their legacy with pride and strength. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Stay strong, brother.”

The post also featured an old video of the trio sharing a meal with Peter.

The accident occurred on Monday, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in the Makun area of Ogun State. The vehicle carrying Joshua and his team reportedly collided with a stationary truck.

Two people in the car, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, also known as “Latz,” died at the scene. Ghami was Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach, while Ayodele was his personal trainer and long-time team member.

Joshua, a former two-time world heavyweight champion, and the driver sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital, where Joshua was reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities are investigating the crash, with preliminary reports suggesting the vehicle may have been travelling above the speed limit and lost control during an overtaking manoeuvre.

The Ogun State Government described the incident as deeply tragic and urged motorists to observe traffic regulations. President Bola Tinubu also extended sympathy to Joshua and the families of the deceased.

The accident comes days after Joshua’s knockout win over Jake Paul in Miami, with discussions of a future bout against Tyson Fury now potentially affected by the tragedy.
