They used scripts to deceive girls, Etinosa Idemudia recounts early struggles

Actress Etinosa Idemudia has spoken about challenges she faced at the start of her acting career, including an experience in which a man attempted to lure her under the pretext of offering her a script.

Speaking during an interview, Etinosa said the man claimed he had a script for her and asked her to come to his house to rehearse. She said she later realised that such claims were often used to deceive aspiring actresses.

“They tell you they have scripts and want you to come to their house to rehearse. Later in life, I understood that most of the time, those scripts are projects they have already shot and are just using to deceive girls.

“They do not actually give you scripts. They only use it as bait. Sometimes, the person talking to you may not even be the real director. It could be a PA or someone pretending. It might even be a script picked from a set,” she said.

Etinosa also recalled her early days on set, noting that her first appearance was as an extra.

“The first time I went on a set as an extra, I did Waka pass. I just went to show myself. If you had seen my shoes then, heavy boots and all,” she added.

Before venturing fully into acting, Etinosa studied computer engineering at Covenant University and worked in the oil and gas sector as a planning engineer. She later left the field to pursue acting and trained at the Royal Arts Academy.

She has since built a steady career in film and television, earning recognition for her performances, including an award for Best Actress in a TV series for her role in Blood of Enogie.
