Actress and evangelist Eucharia Anunobi has spoken out following the circulation of a leaked audio recording that mentioned her name alongside Apostle Chikere Nwafor.
The controversy began after an audio conversation allegedly involving Apostle Psalm Okpe and a pastor identified as Martins, also known as Martin Ugbulu, surfaced online. In the recording, unverified claims were made about Apostle Chikere, with references to Eucharia Anunobi, leading to widespread reactions on social media and within religious circles.
The audio, which circulated widely, reportedly included allegations about how a woman behaved inappropriately in the bedroom during a supposed secret affair. The claims were not supported by evidence.
As the recording gained attention, Apostle Psalm Okpe issued a public apology, admitting that his comments were careless and based on hearsay. He also expressed regret to those affected by the conversation.
Reacting during a live video broadcast, Eucharia dismissed the allegations and said there was a deliberate attempt to damage her reputation, which she said failed.
“And every mouth that has spoken evil against you, God will silence them forever,” she declared.
She also warned critics and bloggers whom she accused of spreading negative reports about her. “They wanted to rubbish my name, but God came through,” the actress said, maintaining that the controversy was an attack on her image.
Her response drew support from fans and followers, many of whom criticised the circulation of unverified audio recordings and allegations involving public figures.
Eucharia Anunobi is a veteran actress who rose to prominence in Nollywood in the 1990s and has featured in numerous films over the years. She previously served as president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria and is also known for her work as an evangelist and public speaker.
