They said I was gay, Uzor Arukwe addresses rumour

Actor Uzor Arukwe has broken his silence over a swirling rumour about his sexuality, addressing it with a blend of surprise and humour.

In an interview, Uzor recounted how he first heard the rumour that he was gay, admitting that the claim caught him completely off guard.

“They said that I was gay, and that shocked me to my balls. I was excited too. Cos I heard that when they start saying those kinds of things, you will blow (famous), so I thought to myself, ‘this must be it.’”

While the rumour was unexpected, the 41-year-old used the moment to reflect on the broader implications and found a silver lining in the attention it brought.

Despite the speculation, Uzor emphasised his support for the LGBTQ+ community, making it clear he holds no prejudice.

“So, I have a lot of gay friends, they are my people, and I know their sexuality. And I love them to death. I have nothing against them whatsoever, but I’m not going to agree to what I’m not just because to some people they are a certain type of people. For me, let God judge.”

The actor also stressed that if he were indeed gay, he wouldn’t hide it.

“If it were my sexuality, I would own it. I’ll be one of the hottest around. I would own it with my chest.”

He wrapped up his comments with a final twist, saying:

“The most shocking part was the person who they said was my boyfriend.”

Though he didn’t drop names, the remark added an intriguing layer to an already eyebrow-raising rumour.
