TG Omori opens up on dialysis expenses months after kidney failure

Music video director ThankGod Omori, popularly known as TG Omori, has spoken about the financial burden of his health care.

In a post on X on Sunday, Omori disclosed that the cost of his treatment has been overwhelming.

“Saw my 6months health expenses, Omo 2 GLE and one small C300 bro! Health is wealth true true. Dialysis is about 100k plus per session, sometimes you need 3 sessions in a week, minimum wage is 70k. Knowing this facts brought me tears in the hospital cause no hope for the common man,” he wrote.

The video director added that he is working on a project to support people living with kidney disease.

“I’m working on my first major glasses design that will be up on sale soon where some of the proceeds will go to people living with Kidney Diseases that can’t afford pay for their dialysis,” he said.

Omori’s health journey has drawn significant public attention.

In August 2024, he announced that his brother donated a kidney to him, but the transplant failed.

He revealed that he had been battling the condition for nearly two years.

Despite the setback, Omori expressed gratitude for the support he received.

“Up and grateful, O Lord. (Sadly, I can’t backflip.) Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. I’m healing now from the stitches of the failed one, but I’ll continue the fight,” he wrote at the time.

Celebrities including Davido, Deyemi Okanlawon, Femi Branch and Kunle Afolayan publicly prayed for his recovery, while fans flooded social media with messages of encouragement.

TG Omori, who announced in April 2024 that he quit smoking, said he is determined to continue creating music videos despite his health struggles.

The director, known for working with some of Nigeria’s biggest music stars, previously revealed that he only began making profits from directing in 2023 after years of running into production debts.

In the same year, Davido disclosed that he paid Omori N100 million to direct the video for his hit single ‘Jowo’.
