Singer Tems has become the most streamed African artiste globally on Spotify, marking a new milestone in her career.

The publication quoted a statement noting that “Tems has reached a defining moment in her career, emerging as the most streamed African artist globally on Spotify.”

Tems, whose name is Temilade Openiyi, gained international attention following her appearance on Wizkid’s hit song ‘Essence,’ which helped introduce her to a wider global audience.

Her rise has been boosted by major collaborations, including work with Drake and Future on the Grammy-winning song ‘Wait for U.’ She has also earned recognition for her solo work and songwriting contributions on international projects.

In 2024, Tems released her debut album Born in the Wild, which received positive reviews and charted in several countries.
