Task Systems Limited has won the Microsoft Best Partner Award at an event held in California, United States of America.

The Nigerian technology company, a member of the Zinox Group, was named one of 42 winners selected from over 4,600 nominations submitted by organisations in 100 countries. Task Systems was the only winner from West Africa, placing it among the companies recognised for their work in the global Microsoft ecosystem.

Chief executive officer of Task Systems, Gozy Ijogun, received the award at the Microsoft Ignite 2025 event. She said the recognition reflects the work that Nigerians in the technology sector have done in the last decade. She also thanked the government of Nigeria, as well as multinationals and local companies that have supported the organisation.

According to Mrs Ijogun, the recognition calls for more enterprise innovation, technical efficiency and stronger engagement between Task Systems and its stakeholders across different sectors.

Chief partner officer and corporate vice president, global channel partner sales of Microsoft, Nicole Dezen, explained the significance of the awards. She said: “This year, we received more than 4,600 nominations from 100 countries and regions, reflecting the continued momentum and growth of our ecosystem. Every submission showcased innovation, technical excellence, and inclusion as partners bring transformative solutions to market.”

The 2025 awards covered eight global categories across the Microsoft ecosystem: Azure, Business Applications, Modern Work, Security, Industry, Social Impact, Partner Innovation and Business Transformation. The process evaluated companies on their global competitiveness, the quality of their solutions and their adherence to Microsoft’s corporate governance standards.

Task Systems was founded in 1987 as an indigenous start-up and has grown into a systems integration company offering information and communication technology solutions to clients across Nigeria and the broader Sub-Saharan market. Over the years, it has become a partner for businesses seeking technology infrastructure, enterprise solutions and support services. The company has also been involved in large-scale deployments and has supplied technical talent to several major organisations. At a time, it deployed more than 257 technology professionals to companies including Shell, Chevron and Total.

Ijogun was appointed CEO on April 1, 2023. Under her leadership, the company has expanded its operations, strengthened its financial position and added to its record of international recognition. The latest Microsoft award adds to more than 27 global awards previously received by the company for its contributions to the digital economy.

She comes from a family with a long involvement in technology and enterprise, and is the first child of Dr Leo Stan Ekeh, founder of the Zinox Group, which has investments in technology, manufacturing and related sectors across Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Her mother, Lady Chioma Ekeh, is the group CEO of TD Africa, one of the largest technology distribution companies in Sub-Saharan Africa. Her siblings also work in technology and related ventures, continuing the family’s involvement in the sector.

She studied chemistry at the University College London and later earned a Master of Science degree in accounting, organisations and institutions from the London School of Economics. At the age of 25, she launched TD Mobile, Nigeria’s first structured mobile devices distribution company. The company grew rapidly and achieved significant revenue in its first year of operations with a lean workforce. TD Mobile later became an authorised distributor for major global brands including Nokia, Samsung, Infinix, Tecno and Apple.

Following her performance at TD Mobile, the company was integrated into TD Africa Distributions Ltd, which represents more than 25 global technology brands, including Microsoft, IBM, HP, Cisco, Lenovo, Dell, ASUS and Samsung. She rose to the position of managing director of TD Africa, where she introduced new products, supported capacity building, and expanded the company’s reseller network across the continent. She also helped strengthen financing options for partners in the distribution chain.

Ijogun has participated in senior management programmes at Harvard, where she studied leadership and organisational management. Her experience in running technology businesses has given her deeper insight into the digital economy and the role of technology in national development.

She has also driven corporate social responsibility efforts. She played a key role in developing “This is Me,” a TD Africa initiative that supports marginalised individuals, including physically challenged persons and other vulnerable groups. The initiative has received support from multinationals and aims to promote inclusion and dignity for its beneficiaries.

Since taking up the role of CEO at Tasks System, she has continued to guide the company’s operations and has overseen projects and partnerships that have strengthened the company’s position in Nigeria’s technology industry.
