Media personality Priscilla Ojo has confirmed that the retail store owned by her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, was looted during the ongoing protests in Tanzania.

The 24-year-old made the clarification in a post shared on Snapchat following viral claims that Jux’s store was burnt down amid the chaos.

She wrote, “Looted ✅ Burnt ❎.”

Priscilla did not reveal the extent of the damage or the value of items stolen from the store.

Earlier, social media reports claimed that the singer’s fashion outlet, estimated to be worth over $780 million, was razed by protesters in Dar es Salaam. Her clarification, however, dispelled the reports, confirming that although the business was attacked, it was not destroyed by fire.

As of the time of filing this report, Juma Jux has not issued a statement addressing the incident.

The looting happened amid violent protests that erupted across Tanzania following the country’s recent general election. Demonstrations broke out after early results showed the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party leading, prompting allegations of irregularities by opposition groups.

The unrest has led to the imposition of curfews and internet restrictions, with several businesses in Dar es Salaam affected by the chaos.

Priscilla, daughter of actress Iyabo Ojo and Juma Jux got married in a private ceremony earlier in the year, attracting attention across both Nigerian and Tanzanian social circles.
