Tantalizers Plc has announced the appointment of filmmaker Tade Ogidan to its board of directors.
The appointment, which took effect on July 29, was disclosed in a notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on Monday and signed by the company’s secretary, Olamide Babawale-Mo.
Chairman of the board Adam Nuhu described the appointment as a move to reinforce the company’s growth plans.
He said, “Tade Ogidan’s appointment underscores our commitment to redefining how food and entertainment converge in Africa. His creative genius will be instrumental in helping us scale our experiential and digital entertainment platforms, while reinforcing our culturally resonant brand.”
The move follows Tantalizers’ acquisition of Grand Media Projects Limited, an entertainment company founded by Ogidan.
The acquisition was disclosed to the NGX on May 17.
Ogidan has directed films such as Diamond Ring, Dangerous Twins, Madam Dearest and Gold Statue.
He has also worked on television projects including The Village Headmaster, Crime Fighters, The Next Titan and The Teju Babyface Show.
His works have been distributed on platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Founded in 1997, Tantalizers Plc opened its first outlet in Festac Town, Lagos.
The restaurant chain grew across major Nigerian cities including Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
The company was listed on the NGX in 2008.
Tantalizers said its repositioning strategy includes live events, digital content and television projects through its entertainment subsidiary, Grand Media Projects Limited.
