Reality TV star Tacha has defended singer Tiwa Savage following criticism over her attendance at a state banquet in the United Kingdom.

Tiwa was among guests at the dinner hosted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle in honour of President Bola Tinubu during his official visit to the UK.

Reacting to the backlash, Tacha questioned why the singer was being criticised for honouring such an invitation.

“For those of you dragging Tiwa Savage for attending a royal dinner, I genuinely want to understand the logic,” she wrote.

She added, “Be honest… if you were in her position, representing your country on that level, would you even DREAM of TURNING IT DOWN??”

The dinner formed part of Tinubu’s state visit, bringing together political figures, diplomats and cultural personalities from Nigeria and the UK.

Tiwa’s presence at the event sparked mixed reactions online, with some questioning her participation amid Nigeria’s current challenges, while others described the invitation as recognition of her global influence.

The banquet also had notable guests including British Nigerian figures such as Maro Itoje, Ben Okri and Eniola Aluko, reflecting cultural ties between both countries.
