Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has lost his mother, Sarah Chukwueze, following a brief illness.

The death was announced on Thursday by his brother, David Chukwueze, through a series of posts on his Instagram story.

In one post, he wrote, “Can’t even post your picture to say RIP mum💔💔💔😭😭😭.”

The statement reflected the difficulty the family is having coming to terms with her death and the emotional weight of the loss.

In another post, he said, “My forever love just left me without saying goodbye💔💔💔.”

This comment pointed to the sudden nature of her death and the absence of a final moment with her.

David also wrote, “You didn’t even carry your grandchild. Chaiiii😭😭😭💔💔💔.”

The statement suggested that Sarah Chukwueze died before meeting her grandchild.

Details of her illness were not disclosed by the family.

Samuel Chukwueze is a member of the Nigerian national team and plays as a winger for Fulham in the English Premier League.

He has represented Nigeria at international competitions, including the Africa Cup of Nations.

The death comes two days after Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi lost his father, Sunday Ndidi, in a road accident in Delta State.
