Stella Damasus makes directorial debut, casts daughter in new film Ndia

Actress Stella Damasus has announced her first project as a director, revealing that her daughter, Angelica Aboderin, is also making her acting debut in the same film titled Ndia.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the 47-year-old shared a poster of the project and wrote:

“It’s a DOUBLE DEBUT 🎉 My first time as a Director, and my beautiful, talented daughter @angelicatooni first time as an actor on screen. I am so proud of you, my baby, and excited for people to see us on screen together ❤️

Ndia is now streaming on her YouTube channel, Stella Damasus TV.

The development marks a major career milestone for the actress who has featured in more than 70 Nollywood films since making her screen debut in the 1990s. In recent years, she has focused on content creation and filmmaking while shuttling between Nigeria and the United States.

Stella has also been celebrating other achievements. Her co-produced film Water Girl premiered earlier in 2025 at Flathead Lake International Cinemafest in Montana, USA.

With Ndia, Stella joins the list of Nollywood stars embracing digital-first releases by putting out full productions directly on YouTube, a growing trend among filmmakers seeking global audiences.
