Filmmaker Chioma Ifemeludike, also known as IfeDike, has questioned the rearrest of filmmaker Stanley Ajemba, popularly called Stanley Ontop.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, she shared a picture of him and wrote: “@stanleyontop_news has just been rearrested after his release yesterday at the Asaba SCID, he was whisked to yet an unknown location.

“As much as I’m indifferent about his approach sometimes especially with individuals it’s important to note that I personally strongly stand against oppression and using the Nigeria police force as a tool.

“If there be a case of defamation then the appropriate process should be followed… which is to sue him for defamation.”

Stanley Ontop was first arrested on Tuesday by the Delta State Police Command over a petition said to have been filed by actress Queeneth Hilbert alleging defamation. He was detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Asaba and released on Wednesday evening.

In a video shared after his release, he thanked supporters and said the experience would not stop his work.

Details of his reported rearrest on Thursday were still unclear, as the police had not issued any statement on the development.
