Farida Fasasi, widow of singer Sound Sultan, has shared a throwback video of herself and her husband to mark the fourth anniversary of his death.
The mother of three posted the clip on Instagram on Friday, showing moments of love and laughter between the couple.
Comedienne Princess also paid tribute to the singer on her Instagram page.
“Lanreeeee I can’t believe it’s already four years since you left this wicked world☹️ I miss you more than words can describe 😢 thanks for always looking out for @faridafasasi and the children 😇 keep resting with God @soundsultan,” the message read.
Sound Sultan, born Olanrewaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi, died on July 11, 2021, in New Jersey, United States, after battling angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a rare form of cancer. He was 44 years old at the time of his death.
The singer was buried in the US in accordance with Islamic rites, surrounded by family and close friends.
Farida, formerly known as Chichi Morah, got married to Sound Sultan in 2009. Their union produced three children.
Since his death, Farida has continued to honour his memory with emotional tributes, often sharing photos and videos that reflect their time together.
In previous posts, she has spoken about the pain of losing her husband and how she has leaned on faith and family to cope.
Sound Sultan was widely respected for his socially conscious music and humility. He gained prominence in the early 2000s with his hit single ‘Mathematics’ and went on to release several albums that addressed political and social issues in Nigeria.
