Actress Sonia Uche has reacted after social media users mistook her for the “Sonia” mentioned in Senator Ned Nwoko’s viral post accusing certain individuals of influencing his estranged wife, Regina Daniels, with drugs.
Taking to her Instagram account on Monday, Sonia shared a picture of herself with a caption that appeared to subtly address the confusion.
She wrote: “My name is Ihuoma Sonia Uche. Just to be clear. This new week, remember… punctuations ( , ) matter.”
Her post comes after Nwoko, in a detailed statement on social media, alleged that Regina’s siblings and some of her friends were sabotaging her rehabilitation by bringing her drugs despite medical warnings.
“When Regina started her rehabilitation, there was a clear instruction by the doctors to strictly restrict people, especially her enablers, from having access to her,” the senator said.
“Unfortunately, Sammy, Destiny, some of their siblings, together with a few of their friends, notably Sonia Uche Montana among others, constantly defied those instructions.”
The lack of a comma in Nwoko’s statement caused some readers to interpret it as a reference to “Sonia Uche Montana,” which led to confusion.
The controversy stems from an ongoing public feud between Nwoko and Regina Daniels. The senator alleged that Regina’s family and friends supplied her with drugs and disrupted his household, claiming he had spent over N125 million supporting her family.
Regina has since denied the claims, admitting to using drugs in the past but accusing Nwoko of manipulation and abuse. She also said he encouraged her habit, claiming he told her she was “sexier” when high.
