Actress Sonia Ogiri has revealed she once sent a spiritual warning to Nigerian-American businessman Simon Guobadia before his failed marriage to Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams.
In a post shared on Thursday, Sonia uploaded a screenshot of a message she sent to Simon on April 1, 2024, on her verified Instagram account. She expressed sadness over how the marriage turned out and explained that she felt led by God to deliver the message.
She wrote:
“GOD choose who he wants to use.
I feel so sad for this man Simon not because I know the whole truth but because I had a message for him and Obi Cubana’s wife. I personally sent both of them messages with my verified account and told two of my friends about it. This was long before his marriage which GOD was clearly warning him.
“We joke about everything even when we should give a listening ears. I don’t care about getting messages for any body because I’m concerned about myself but when he chooses to send me, I tell the people regardless.
May GOD help us all.
Me posting this isn’t for him to respond anymore cause the deed has been done, I just want other people to learn from this. Obi’s wife message is still in her inbox, if she like, make she take am serious, if she likes she should.”
In the screenshot, Sonia’s short message to Simon read:
“I’m just a normal lady that hears GOD sometimes. If you will listen to me. Have a great day.”
Her post comes months after Porsha filed for divorce from Simon in February 2024, citing an “ongoing matter” not related to infidelity. The couple, who tied the knot in November 2022 with lavish ceremonies in Nigeria and the United States, had been married for about 15 months.
Details of the divorce settlement have since emerged. Simon was ordered to pay Porsha $40,000 monthly in alimony for the duration of the marriage, amounting to about $560,000. In addition, he is to cover her legal fees, continue paying the mortgage and bills on their $7 million Atlanta mansion and transfer ownership of a Rolls-Royce he gifted her during the marriage.
Porsha also has the option to refinance and buy out Simon’s share of the house before 2027.
The divorce was finalised on June 11.
In an interview with Page Six, Simon expressed regret over the marriage.
“I absolutely regret marrying Porsha,” he said. “I was targeted for financial reasons, and I plan to appeal the judgment.”
Sonia’s mention of Obi Cubana’s wife, Ebele Iyiegbu, has also drawn attention, although she did not reveal the content of the message she claimed to have sent her.
The actress insisted that sharing the message was not for clout or to elicit a response from Simon, but to encourage others to take spiritual warnings seriously.
