The film Son of the Soil has reached the number one position on Netflix’s Top 10 chart in Nigeria less than a day after its debut.
The movie stars Razaaq Adoti, Sunshine Rosman, Ireti Doyle, Patience Ozokwor, Sharon Rotimi, Damilola Ogunsi, Taye Arimoro, Philip Asaya and Toyin Oshinaike.
Son of the Soil follows Zion Ladejo, a former special operations soldier who returns home after the death of his sister and sets out to find those responsible. The story centres on his search for justice as he confronts a criminal network in his community.
The film was directed by Chee Keong Cheung and produced by Cheung, Razaaq Adoti, Ioanna Karavela and Andreas Roald. It was co-written by Cheung and Adoti, who also plays the lead role.
The movie was released on March 1 and is currently streaming on Netflix.
