To Kill a Monkey, which premiered on Netflix on July 18, is a gritty Nigerian limited series that explores betrayal, trauma, cybercrime and survival in modern Lagos.
Created and directed by King of Boys filmmaker Kemi Adetiba, the show features a star-studded cast including Bucci Franklin (Oboz), William Benson (Efemini), Teniola Aladese (Ivie), Bimbo Akintola, Ireti Doyle, Chidi Mokeme and Ayoola Ayolola.
Timini’s comment about the hanging scene refers to the fate of Teacher, played by Chidi Mokeme, whose criminal actions led to a grim end.
The series marks Kemi Adetiba’s return to television following the success of King of Boys: The Return of the King and has quickly climbed the charts on Netflix Nigeria.
Fans have continued to react on social media, praising the plot twists and standout performances, while also debating the moral dilemmas explored in the show.
