Afrobeat singer Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, has reportedly died, according to social media reports.
A video circulating online on Sunday showed the deceased with cotton wool in his nostrils.
According to reports, he suffered from severe symptoms and ultimately vomited blood before his death. In the footage, the young artiste was seen lying motionless in the backseat of a car, as he was ostensibly being transported to a mortuary. The video was reportedly recorded by individuals present at the scene, though the exact location and time remain unclear.
Despite the viral video and growing online discussions, there is still no official statement from the singer’s family, close associates, or management team, and the cause of death remains unconfirmed.
Destiny Boy was known for his Fuji‑inspired Afrobeats style and had gained a following across Nigeria. In March 2024, he reportedly proposed to his partner with a diamond ring said to be worth millions of naira. Later that year, in November 2024, he welcomed his first child at the age of 20.
Fans and colleagues have taken to social media to express shock and condolences following the reports of his death.
As of now, no official statement confirming the cause of his death has been released.
