Singer Candy Bleakz has been attacked and robbed in South Africa.
On Thursday, the 26-year-old shared videos of herself bleeding from the mouth. In one of the clips, she cried out to a police officer, saying, “Officer why did you let them rob me like this? Why? You were there. You let them go.”
Candy Bleakz said the attack happened outside her apartment while she was having a cup of coffee. She later posted another video on Snapchat showing her distressed as she nursed bruises from the assault. According to her, a group of unidentified men approached her, attacked her and escaped with her gold jewellery valued at about N10 million.
Candy Bleakz, known for her energetic style and rising presence in the Nigerian music scene, has received an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues.
Her ordeal comes months after Mavin Records’ DJ Big N survived a similar incident in Johannesburg. The DJ was shot in the leg when six armed men ambushed him at a traffic stop and demanded his jewellery. He later said the bullet narrowly missed a major artery.
