Vice President Kashim Shettima has represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the wedding Fatiha of the son of former Vice President Namadi Sambo at the Al-Furqan Mosque in Kano.
Senior special assistant to the president on media and communications (Office of the Vice President) Stanley Nkwocha posted on X on Friday about the visit and the reception on arrival.
In his post Nkwocha wrote, “Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima has landed in Kano to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the wedding Fatiha of the son of former Vice President Namadi Sambo, GCON. The wedding Fatiha is being held at the Al-Furqan Mosque, Kano.
“The Vice President was received on arrival by the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, who stood in for the governor, former Vice President Namadi Sambo, Sen. Mohammed Danjuma Goje (Gombe Central), amongst other state government officials and dignitaries. This is to wish the newlyweds a most blissful marital life with the blessings of the Almighty Allah.”
In a follow-up post Nkwocha added, “Vice President Kashim Shettima representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived at the Al-Furqan Mosque in Kano to attend the Friday prayers and the wedding of the son of former Vice President Namadi Sambo, GCON.
“The Vice President joined other distinguished guests and well-wishers at the mosque for this special event, which included today’s Friday congregational prayers and the wedding fatiha.
Former Vice President Namadi Sambo, Mohammed Danjuma Goje (Gombe Central), and other dignitaries were also present.”
Also in attendance were Senator Mohammed Goje, government officials and other dignitaries.
Namadi Sambo served as vice president under President Goodluck Jonathan from 2010 to 2015.
Before then he served as governor of Kaduna State from 2007 until 2010.
He is married to Amina Sambo and their union is blessed with six children.
Kashim Shettima joined other worshippers for the Friday congregational prayers before attending the wedding rites.
He extended his best wishes to the couple, praying for a fruitful marriage blessed by Allah.
