Shaffy Bello rejoices as AMAA 2025 nominates her for Best Actress in The Masked King

Actress Shaffy Bello has expressed joy after being nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2025 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).

The 55-year-old shared photos of her nomination post on Instagram on Thursday, describing it as “the evidence of God’s grace.”

She wrote: “The Evidence of Gods Grace. Thank you @amaawards_ for the recognition. I do not take it for granted. I am deeply grateful. Congratulations to ALL the nominees. We’ve already WON 🏆 See you on the 9th.”

Shaffy was nominated for her performance in The Masked King, joining other contenders including Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman (The Serpent Gift), Analisa Munyana (Mucoma: The Battle of the Couple), Florence Mariserena (Small Gods), and Osas Ighodaro, Fat Toure and Maud Guerard (3 Cold Dishes).

The 2025 AMAA ceremony, set to hold in Lagos on November 9, marks the 21st edition of the prestigious event.

Founded in 2005 by the late Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, the Africa Movie Academy Awards celebrate excellence in African filmmaking and remain one of the most respected honours on the continent.

Shaffy, has featured in films such as Elesin Oba, The Therapist and Chief Daddy.
