Saraki’s media aide Yusuph Olaniyonu loses wife

Yusuph Olaniyonu, media aide to ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki, has lost his wife, Aishat Olaniyonu.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the family announced that Mrs Olaniyonu died on the morning of October 14, corresponding to the 22nd of Rabiul Thani 1447 AH. She was 52 years old.

“With total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife and sister,” the statement read. “We say Alhamdulillah for a life well lived.”

The family also quoted verses from the Qur’an (Q2:155-156), “We will certainly test you with a touch of fear and famine and loss of property, life, and crops. Give good news to those who patiently endure who say, when struck by a disaster, ‘Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we will all return.’”

The deceased is survived by her husband, children, Oladapo, Oladipo and Oladepo, her aged mother and siblings.

She will be buried at the Muslim Cemetery, Adigbe, Abeokuta, on Wednesday by 4 p.m.

The statement was signed by her son, Oladapo Olaniyonu, on behalf of the family.
