Actress Sarah Martins has been hospitalised after slumping at her store following weeks of uninterrupted work.
On Instagram on Monday, she shared photos of herself on a hospital bed and explained what led to the incident. She said she woke up feeling weak and numb before heading out to attend to her businesses.
“Woke up today and couldn’t feel any part of my body…😭
For a second I felt lifeless 😭😭😭😭
“I still struggled and went to my stores to do inventory and a few interviews for incoming employees and that was when i slumped,” she wrote.
Sarah said she had worked without rest throughout December, even when her staff travelled for the festive season.
“All through December, I worked every single day and even when my staffs traveled for season celebration, I still kept working.
“No days off, no stretches no nothing… just a walking corps working tirelessly to cater for others forgetting myself 😭😭😭😭”
According to her, doctors conducted more than 32 medical tests, including checks for cancer, fibroid, liver and kidney conditions, malaria and typhoid, and all results came back negative.
“I did over 32 tests today and all came out negative including, cancer, fibroid, liver, kidney, malaria, typhoid etc.
I guess God took proper care of my organs while I neglected my body,” she said.
She added that medical personnel diagnosed her condition as extreme exhaustion and advised her to take proper bed rest.
“I am typing this from a sick bed but I will be fine because the God that protects the vulnerable kids I struggle for will never fail me.
“They said I’m extremely exhausted and needs proper bed rest 🥹
“Thank you Heavenly Father for your constant protection over my life 🙏”
Sarah is currently receiving medical care as she recovers from the health scare. Messages of support have continued to pour in from colleagues and fans.
