Sarafa Isola to chair Penpushing Media’s 7th anniversary lecture

Former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Isola, has been named chairman of the 7th anniversary lecture of Penpushing Media. The event will take place on Thursday, July 31 at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The announcement was made in a statement by the chairperson of the anniversary committee, Dr. Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi, and the secretary, Sina Adefolahan. They confirmed that Isola has agreed to attend and chair the event.

“I am proud to be associated with the Penpushing team, and as a member, I am proud and honoured to chair the event. I am also confirming that I will physically be in attendance to grace the occasion. I am also convinced about journalism role of Penpushing Media which today has made it a household name globally in the media industry,” Isola said.

An accomplished public servant and diplomat, Isola was appointed Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the UK in 2021 by former President Muhammadu Buhari. He holds the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).

His experience spans both public and private sectors. He served as Minister of Mines and Steel Development between 2007 and 2008. Before that, he was Secretary to the Ogun State Government from 2003 to 2007. Earlier in his career, he worked with the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC) and served as Special Assistant to the Minister of Finance in 1999.

Ambassador Isola is a graduate of Harvard Kennedy School of Government in the United States and holds an MBA. He is married with children who are thriving in their careers.
