Content creator Sanku Comedy’s mother has revealed that he made several promises to her before his tragic death in a car accident.
His grieving mother, in an interview, said the comedian had vowed to set her up in business and take full responsibility for the family before death cut his life short.
Sank died on Monday, after his car veered off the Oyo–Ogbomoso Road in Ibadan, Oyo State and plunged into a ditch. He was rushed to the hospital but later confirmed dead.
His death sparked widespread tributes from colleagues and fans. Actress Funmi Awelewa described the incident as “heartbreaking”, while fellow creators like Jidex Klothing and Eregele also mourned him on social media.
Sanku’s last TikTok video, posted a day before his death, has since gone viral. In it, he prayed: “When it’s time for us to enjoy what we worked hard for, may we never lose our life.”
Amid the mourning, rumours surfaced online alleging that Sanku was involved in ritual practices to gain fame. In a viral video, however, his mother strongly dismissed the claims.
“Nigerians help me. I am in deep sorrow. Sanku was the breadwinner of our family. He was my 5th born out of 6 children. He was taking very good care of me and his siblings,” she said.
She added: “He made a lot of promises to me that death did not allow him to fulfil. I suffered a lot on them before God raised him up. I am a pepper seller. He already told me to stop selling pepper and that he would establish me in a big business.
“To everyone saying my son did money rituals, that is a blatant lie. He was a devoted Muslim and very hardworking. He loved comedy right from a young age. Nigerians, may you not know the graves of your children.”
Sanku Comedy was buried in Osogbo, Osun State on Tuesday.
