Actor Saidi Balogun has shared a snippet of the last movie his daughter Zeenat Balogun featured in before her death.
The movie titled Maid For a Day was shot barely two weeks before Zeenat’s death.
Saidi posted the clip on Instagram on Tuesday with the caption, “This hurts to post, but light can never be hidden under a shade. My daughter Zeenat Balogun’s last movie before she moved on to glory barely two weeks after Maid For a Day. Ready for the screens.”
The actor’s post stirred an outpour of emotions from colleagues and fans who consoled him in the comment section.
Zeenat died in October 2024, a loss that left the Eti Keta actor devastated. Her death was first announced by Saidi in an Instagram post that showed a burning candle and heartbreak emojis.
Saidi was at Terra Kulture in Lagos when he received the devastating news. He was preparing for the second stage performance of Asiyanbi: Ti Oluwa Nile alongside Kareem Adepoju (Baba Wande), Aisha Lawal and Yomi Fash-Lanso when the call came in, forcing him to withdraw from the show that night.
His ex-wife and actress Faithia Williams also mourned the deceased, writing, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”
While the cause of Zeenat’s death remains undisclosed, Saidi has continued to honour her memory with emotional tributes.
On the first anniversary of her death, he wrote on Instagram, “One year strong. Never to be forgotten! Rest on my angel Zeenat Jolade Balogun.”
Zeenat, who kept a low profile compared to her father, was Saidi’s daughter from a previous relationship.
Her last work, Maid For a Day, is expected to be released soon.
