Arise TV anchor Rufai Oseni has denied claims circulating on social media that he was suspended by the station.
Taking to his 𝕏 handle on Friday, Mr Oseni clarified that he is currently on a scheduled leave that was announced on-air by Arise TV before it began.
“The lies and fabrications are terrible. Social media na wa,” he wrote, dismissing the suspension rumours as baseless.
He added in another post, “I have worked for about a year, and I decided to go on leave. After I rest small, I go return. I love you all.”
Oseni said his leave started two weeks ago on a Thursday and was publicly disclosed during the station’s broadcast.
“At the start of my leave on Thursday last two weeks, it was announced on TV I went on leave. Empirical facts dey, so data bois that lied about suspension una jam Zuma rock,” he said.
Oseni joined Arise TV in 2019 as a correspondent and reporter, covering political, social and economic news across Nigeria.
Since joining, he has reported on major national events, including legislative developments, presidential activities and international affairs affecting the country.
He has also contributed to special features and in-depth interviews, building a profile as a journalist focused on transparency, governance and public accountability.
In addition to clarifying his leave, Rufai Oseni commented on the earnings of Nigerian ambassadors following the submission of another batch of 32 ambassadorial nominees by President Bola Tinubu to the Senate.
According to him, ambassadors earn salaries under the Consolidated Diplomatic, Consular and Foreign Service Cadre structure used by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He said ambassadors occupy the highest grade level, usually GL 17 and receive various allowances when deployed abroad.
