Rotimi Salami

Actor Rotimi Salami became emotional on Wednesday during the premiere of the film Kilanko: The Invisible Child, directed by his late friend and colleague Allwell Ademola.

The premiere was held at Silverbird Cinema on Ahmadu Bello Way in Victoria Island, Lagos.

During the event, while members of the cast addressed the audience after the screening, Rotimi could not hold back his tears. His wife was seen comforting him.

The premiere had Odunlade Adekola, Muyiwa Ademola, Eniola Ajao, among others in attendance.

The film, titled Kilanko: The Invisible Child, was produced by Rotimi and directed by Allwell before her death in December 2025.

According to Rotimi, the project began as a shared dream between the two filmmakers. He said he handled the logistics, funding and search for sponsors for the project while Allwell focused on directing the film.

KILANKO will begin showing in cinemas nationwide from March 6.

Allwell, an actress, director and producer, died on December 27, 2025. She was known for her work in both Yoruba and English language films and had a career that spanned several decades in the industry.

She appeared in several Nollywood productions and later moved into directing and producing films.

Kilanko: The Invisible Child is one of the last projects she directed before her death and is expected to stand as part of her creative legacy.
