Actress Ronke Oshodi‑Oke has responded to a social media critic who questioned celebrities seeking support for fellow actress Aunty Ajara.
The critic reacted to a post seeking support for Aunty Ajara, claiming that Ronke sprays money at events but cannot donate to the ailing actress. In response, Ronke said that much of the support had already been given privately before going public. She told the critic that “we contributed almost N5 million for Ajara privately.”
Ronke explained that supporters and colleagues gave money for Ajara’s treatment, including one person who donated N500,000, and that public appeals were made only after these private contributions. She also challenged the critic’s claim about how money is spent, asking whether the person has ever seen her ‘spray money at parties’ and urging them to direct their comments at those who actually do.
The video concerns actress Aunty Ajara, who has been hospitalised, prompting public calls for prayers and additional support online. Actress Wumi Toriola had earlier appealed for help for Ajara as her condition became more critical despite previous efforts.
Fans who saw Ronke’s response shared supportive comments online. One said that before celebrities come out to solicit for help, they always do their best privately before bringing it out. Another wrote, “Don’t mind them ma, may God strengthen Aunty Ajara.”
