Gospel singer Kehinde Adegbodu has raised alarm after armed robbers invaded his family home following the death of his twin brother, Taiwo Adegbodu.

In a video shared on Instagram on Thursday, Kehinde said he was not at home when the incident occurred but that his late brother’s wife and children were present during the attack.

He explained that the robbers made away with cash and valuables, believing that money donated during Taiwo’s burial was still in his possession. He added that the attackers questioned his sister-in-law about his whereabouts and demanded access to Taiwo’s belongings.

“I was in Osogbo three days ago when Taiwo’s wife called me, and her voice was shaking. She said armed robbers came to the house and were saying, ‘Where is Kehinde? Where is the room of Taiwo that d!ed? Where is their jewellery? Where is Taiwo’s phone? Where is the car key? We are here because of Kehinde. We want to see him. Where is his room? The robbers took all my clothes, valuables and cash. One of the robbers called their boss on the phone, saying that I wasn’t around,” he said.

Kehinde also linked the attack to donations raised by gospel singer Yinka Ayefele during the burial.

“I think the robbers thought that the money Yinka Ayefele raised for us was still with me. These robbers don’t even care that we are mourning. They spent over 45 minutes at our house. The money raised for us was used to develop our building project so we could bury Taiwo there. I will post my account balance so that these robbers will know there is no money there. Please don’t come and h@rm our children. I am always on the road. I don’t have money, and I don’t live a fake life. Even the car we are using was a gift. Since the incident, our kids have been living in fear; they are scared to sleep in the house”.

The incident comes days after the burial of Taiwo, whose death drew attention within gospel music circles and prompted support from colleagues and fans.

Kehinde said the family is still mourning and called for understanding, adding that the attack has left the children traumatised. He urged those responsible to stay away from the family, insisting that the donations received had already been used for burial arrangements and a building project.
