Actress Rita Daniels and her ex-husband have expressed gratitude to Nigerians after finding their son, Sammy West.

In a video shared online, the former couple, along with actress Sonia Ogala, thanked Nigerians for their concern following days of anxiety over their son’s whereabouts.

Sammy’s disappearance became public after his sister, actress Regina Daniels, alleged that he was arrested in Lagos and moved to Abuja on the orders of her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.

In a social media post, Regina accused the lawmaker of using the police to detain her brother and keeping the family in the dark.

She wrote: “This is now a case of kidnapping. Holding my brother down till I return is diabolical! What do I call this now? Love or obsession? You have always said I am the most useless wife then why do you need that useless wife back? Free my brother! No matter what he did, his parents and family should be able to see him. Nigeria Police! Free Sammy West.”

Rita, who came under criticism online during the crisis, was later defended by Regina who urged Nigerians to stop attacking her mother.

Regina said: “My mother does not deserve the negativity being directed at her. People should stop involving her in what is currently happening.”

Although Sammy West has now been found, the family is yet to share details about his arrest or release.

The Daniels family has dominated headlines in recent weeks following reports of a rift between Regina and her husband, Ned Nwoko.
