Journalist and former presidential spokesman Reuben Abati has celebrated his son David Abati for graduating from A-Level studies.
Reuben shared photos from the event on Instagram on Friday, showing his wife Kikelomo, family members and the young graduate.
He revealed in the caption that David not only graduated but also served as the master of ceremonies at the graduation for the Class of 2025 at Bridge House College in Ikoyi, Lagos.
“Congratulations to my son, David Abati, who graduated from his A-Levels at Bridge House School yesterday!” Reuben wrote. “Not only did he graduate, but he also MC’d the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2025 with so much confidence, wit, and flair. Clearly, it runs in the Abati bloodline!”
He also quoted his wife joking about their son’s looks and intelligence. “As Kiki joked yesterday, ‘The new generation of Abatis are finer and more intelligent versions’. Well, no wahala, na who born dem? 😂 The apples don’t fall far from their trees.”
The proud father ended the post with words of encouragement to his son. “So proud of you, son. May this next chapter into college life be filled with purpose, discovery, growth, and excellence. The world is yours to conquer. Go shine, son, and leap, making the family proud!”
Reuben Abati is married to Kikelomo Abati, a lawyer and entrepreneur. The couple has four children together. Though Reuben has mostly kept his family life private, he occasionally shares moments like this to celebrate his children’s milestones.
