First Lady Oluremi Tinubu was on Sunday installed as the Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodu’a at the palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Senator Tinubu arrived at the palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, around 1 PM and was received by the monarch and his chiefs.

Her visit follows the announcement of her selection for the title by the Ooni, who described the role as one reserved for individuals positioned to support the development of the Yoruba people.

The installation ceremony, taking place at the Palace Square, is part of events marking the 10th coronation anniversary of Oba Ogunwusi.

The title of Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodu’a is traditionally bestowed on a woman expected to collaborate with Yoruba leaders on cultural, social and community initiatives.

Dignitaries at the event include the Sultan of Sokoto Sa’ad Abubakar, former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, among others.
