First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has congratulated celebrity chef Hilda Baci on her attempt to cook the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
In a post on Instagram on Wednesday, Mrs Tinubu commended Baci for her effort, saying her work has gained recognition in Nigeria and beyond.
“I congratulate you @hildabaci on setting another Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian style Jollof rice cooking.
“Your passion, resilience, and creativity in showcasing your craft as a celebrity Chef of one of Nigeria’s most loved dishes on the global stage is inspiring.
“Your art of culinary techniques has not only brought pride to our dear nation, but has gained National and Global recognition,” she wrote.
She also prayed for greater accomplishments for Baci and other Nigerian youth.
“I pray for greater accomplishments for you and other Nigerian youth who dare to dream. CONGRATULATIONS, Hilda Baci.”
Hilda Baci rounded off the challenge on Friday at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, using a six-metre-wide custom-built pot.
Guinness World Records has confirmed her achievement but she is yet to be formally awarded.
In 2023, Baci gained global attention after cooking for 93 hours and 11 minutes to set a Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon.
