Afrobeats star Rema has met Apala singer Alhaji Wasiu Haruna, a moment that stirred reactions online.
A video of the encounter shared on Thursday shows the 25-year-old greeting the veteran musician at a car dealership. Rema bowed slightly as they shook hands and posed for pictures together. This appears to be their first meeting.
Some fans speculated that the two might be planning a collaboration. They noted that while Fuji music had been largely abandoned by young singers in the past, artistes are now embracing it.
Ayomide Taiwo wrote, “Fuji wey people no really like before na hin everybody dey hop on now.”
A user known simply as Olamide commented, “You see that hand Rema quickly cover it.”
Another user, Adelakun Wunmi, said, “@heisrema keep shining bro.. love yaaa❤️❤️❤️.”
Solomon added, “Who dey always call all these Fuji artists self?😂 They always on call mhen!”.
Wasiu Haruna is one of the sons of late Apala legend Haruna Ishola.
Earlier, Burna Boy named Fuji icon Saheed Osupa his “GOAT singer” during a chat with Roger Federer. Osupa called the honour “monumental,” saying it uplifts his journey while celebrating Fuji music.
