Relax, Tinubu is fixing Nigeria – Zack Orji

Actor Zack Orji has urged Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu, saying the president is working to fix the country.

In a video, Orji said, “Fellow Nigerians, relax. Yes, President Tinubu is fixing Nigeria. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, well done, and we appreciate you in a big way.”

He added: “May God Almighty continue to keep you, inspire you, strengthen you, sustain you, lift you, and perfect and embellish everything that concerns you and your dreams and aspirations for this country in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, our Lord and Saviour. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, carry go, nothing do you.”

Orji, who was a strong supporter of Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, noted that Tinubu is the first president since the civil war ended in 1970 to truly remember the South-East.

According to him, “He (Tinubu) is the first Nigerian president since the end of the civil war in 1970 that remembers the South-East in a very special way.”

He cited the creation of the South-East Development Commission and the approval of N150 billion as a take-off grant for the commission’s investment company. He also praised the appointment of David Umahi, a former governor of Ebonyi State, as Minister of Works – the first time someone from the South-East has held the position.

The actor also lauded Tinubu for approving $3 billion for the reconstruction of the Eastern rail corridor, which he said had been abandoned for years.

Orji added, “Today, the Eastern corridor is alive, getting ready to be flagged off. Tinubu is fixing Nigeria. A new Nigeria is emerging. Reconstruction, rehabilitation, and reconciliation is happening. A new Nigeria anchored on equity, justice, and inclusiveness.”

His comments come as several celebrities who supported Tinubu during the campaign have publicly expressed disappointment in the government due to the worsening economy. Stars like Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Fatai ‘Lalude’ Adetayo and Ganiu ‘Alapini’ Nafiu have all spoken out in recent months.

Zack Orji, however, has remained consistent in his support. In 2024, he underwent brain surgery and reportedly received financial support from the government, further strengthening his bond with the administration.

Born in Libreville, Gabon, Orji is one of Nollywood’s pioneers and has appeared in over 250 films including Glamour Girls and Blood Money.
