A video of a man spraying singer 9ice with N5 notes while he performed on stage has gone viral, sparking mixed reactions online.
In the clip shared on social media on Wednesday, the man approached the ‘Gongo Aso’ crooner mid-performance and began throwing bundles of N5 notes around him, leaving 9ice and the crowd visibly amused.
Reacting to the video, a fan named Max said, “You see why some artists go use their shoe do matching for fans’ head? Make e go do am for Burna Boy show.”
Another fan, DJ Vikille, cautioned the man for mocking a legend like 9ice. He said, “Is he mocking him? This is not nice. You don’t treat our legend like this.”
Kingdinero also wrote, “Na after the show 9ice go realize wetin play.”
Joy hilariously commented, “That 5 naira get value when 9ice drop that song 😂 Na why e spray am.”
Dayo also added, “Guy, is that 9ice?? No, it’s not 😂😂.”
9ice, whose real name is Abolore Akande, is known for blending Yoruba proverbs and traditional rhythms in his music. The 45-year-old singer rose to fame with his 2008 hit single ‘Gongo Aso,’ which earned him several awards, including the MTV Africa Music Award for Best Hip Hop Artist.
