Reactions have trailed disc jockey Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, after she praised her sister Temi Otedola’s marriage to singer Oluwatosin Ajibade, better known as Mr Eazi.
On Thursday, Cuppy wrote on X, “Call me old school, but I see marriage as the most powerful partnership in life. Maybe even the most important contract you will ever sign… with God Himself as the witness.
“Seeing my baby sister Temi become Mrs Ajibade reminds me that marriage is far from outdated. With the right person, it pulls you closer to purpose and builds love, family, and legacy.”
Her post stirred a wave of reactions.
Tboysquare commented, “God go do your own.”
Another user, Adesola, said, “Taking your husband’s last name shouldn’t be a debate. It’s all about your perception of how things should be. Some culture and religion accepts some don’t. Like in Islam it’s not compulsory. It’s all about choice so people should stop attacking those who like it.”
Noorie quipped, “Cuppy, let’s get married. Can you live in Kano?”
Habibi Of Abj advised, “Sometimes we shouldn’t lose ourselves to matrimonial pressure, some people get married and their lives becomes worst chaos itself. Let’s forget the online pressure, stay happy within and without and if you could have a baby it’s still all part of blessings.”
Akin Olaoye teased, “Madam. Give us wedding date?”
Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire Femi Otedola, tied the knot with Mr Eazi earlier this year. The couple held multiple ceremonies – a civil wedding in Monaco in May, a traditional celebration in Dubai in July and a church wedding in Iceland in August.
The events drew international media attention, with Vogue covering Temi’s bridal looks and the couple’s star-studded guest list.
