Social media users have reacted to the resident pastor of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo Jnr’s claim that he has never argued with his wife, Kemi, in 17 years of marriage.

In a video shared on X on Sunday, the 42-year-old said he made a decision during courtship that disagreements would not be part of his marriage.

“We had our wedding anniversary in July. Seventeen years, we have not had one argument,” Oyedepo said.

“We have never had a day where I’m raising my voice, my wife is raising her voice, we’re shouting. Not one day. It has never happened”, he added.

His statement drew mixed reactions online.

One user said, “That’s a good testimony, but we must remember that marriage is not defined by the absence of arguments, but by how husband and wife submit to God’s word.”

Another wrote, “I’ll make an excuse for him; I think he meant to say we’ve never had a fight or likely an argument that resulted in a disagreement or dispute.”

One comment read, “That can’t be healthy. It means there are emotions bottled up inside. Even Jesus Christ our saviour spoke out when things were not the way it’s supposed to be.”

David and Kemi Oyedepo got married in July 2007 and have two children, a son and a daughter.

The couple celebrated their 17th anniversary on July 26.
